Here’s a revolutionary idea: let’s actually read the Bible. Whole books. In community. It’s more doable than you think.
For eight weeks, Hope Community will explore the New Testament together. We’ll read five days a week and share the journey in weekly small group gatherings. We’ll immerse ourselves in every word of the New Testament—understanding it in context, experiencing it in community.
How it works
Start by thinking of Covenant Community Bible Experience more like a book club than a Bible study. Read the Bible and then simply talk about what you read, using The Books of the Bible. It sounds simple because it is. But the impact of reading and sharing together in this fresh, new way has proven to be remarkable. So get ready for a great experience rediscovering God's word in a format more like the original.
For eight weeks, read larger portions of the Bible to get a view of God's great plan of redemption. It's about twelve pages a day, five days a week.
Be sure to read the introductions to each book, and use the daily e-mails to gain an understanding of the context of what you are reading.
Gather together in community groups each week to talk about what you read. Share your thoughts, discoveries, and responses. Use the questions on the bookmark provided to guide these open, honest discussions.
When and Where?
There are a number of opporunites to meet for Community Bible Experience throughout the week at various times. For a list of group opportunites, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Kid's Audio Book Version
Community Bible Experience is for the whole family. There is an incredible audiobook version for kids that families can listen to together. Each episode begins with a brief introduction to set the stage, followed by a portion of Scripture selected to match what you’re reading in the New Testament that day. The Scripture portions were taken from the New International Reader’s Version® (NIrV), an easy-to-read Bible version based on the NIV. You can learn more and download the Kid's Audiobook version here.
